The patients these days are increasingly getting interested in cosmetic procedures that are minimally invasive which is precisely the reason why laser resurfacing with fractional CO2 and erbium laser is gaining in popularity. Dr. Pamela S Henderson has been using cortex laser for laser resurfacing in her Scottsdale practice for one year now and states that the impressive results produced by it outperform the traditional lasers. Fractional Laser Resurfacing is done to treat sun damaged skin, mild and deep wrinkles and other skin irregularities. The combined Cortex CO2 and Erbium Laser System is designed to facilitate the treatment of areas like neck and chest which was previously not possible with the traditional laser. The recovery period in this treatment is less than a week. People looking for skin treatment through laser resurfacing in Scottsdale, must visit Dr. Henderson for free consultation.

For the last year I’ve had the cortex laser in my office which combines fractional CO2 laser with erbium. The advantage of having the combined lasers is that we can use the fractional CO2 to penetrate the skin for collagen stimulation while using the erbium laser for treatment of the skin surface including sun damaged spots etc. The advantages of the fractional CO2 over the traditional CO2 is that it has a faster recovery with lower risks of problems such as pigmentation, change and scarring. It also has the advantage of allowing treatment to extend in to the neck and chest, so that those areas can be treated as well. The settings of the machine are chosen based on the patient’s degree of aging, changes or sun damage as well as their skin type so that we can adjust the power, the density or the amount of surface area that’s treated as well as the duration of exposure which is the amount of time that the energy is penetrating into the skin. The recovery time with fractional CO2 and Erbium is definitely less than what we have seen in the past with traditional CO2. In the past we’ve seen recoveries with up to two weeks with redness lasting for several months. With the fractional CO2 and Erbium laser we see recovery within a week and redness lasting just a few weeks. In typical patients we often see recovery even within a few days if a lighter treatment is used. In 2013 I bought the cortex laser and since having it I’m thrilled with the results because it is making my patients happy. I’m able to offer it to wider range of patients and I’m able to extend the treatment in to the neck and chest which was not possible before.
